Belleek’s 160th Anniversary Archive Collection
Limited & Special Edition Piece

This STUNNING handmade basket from the artists at Belleek is one of the the most beautiful pieces in this limited collection. A recreation of an item first made in 1887, the Henscall Basket is extremely detailed and each detail has been carefully planned. Precision weaving comes together with excellent textures and bright, beautiful colors. Flowers, shamrocks, leaves and vines cover this basket and they look so real! It’s truly a work of art.

The creation of each handmade Belleek basket tells a story about the dedication and artistic skill of each crafter. Baskets are all handwoven and feature elegantly weaved designs and often have hand shaped, cut and painted flowers. This special design and technique was brought to Belleek in the late 1860s by a man named William Henshall. Over his more than 40 years with the company, he worked with and trained many local craftsmen in the art of making such elegant porcelain baskets. The skills have been passed down over the many years and remain today.

Back in 2017, Belleek Pottery celebrated a milestone in its history: its 160th year! To help commemorate this fantastic achievement, the people at Belleek released a limited run of iconic pieces, one from each of the 16 decades they had been making the often cherished, high quality pieces of fine parian china. Each piece in this limited collection is numbered and marked with a special stamp to commemorate the start of the company back in 1857! This piece makes a special gift! A “must have” for any Belleek collector! Look for other iconic pieces in this collection before they’re gone.
